We utilize Trauma-Informed Care, which emphasizes physical, psychological, and emotional safety for survivors, helping them rebuild a sense of control and empowerment.
In the context of clinical social work, trauma-informed care involves utilizing various therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Behavioral Therapy, and Spiritual Therapy1. The approach is tailored to the client’s strengths and cultural sensitivity, focusing on understanding the unique issues that individuals face daily or as a result of past trauma. This enables the therapist to create a personalized treatment plan that best suits clients seeking assistance.
Trauma-informed care also involves working with court-mandated clients, including those dealing with domestic violence, anger management, sexual behavior issues, and ACS Parenting clients. The goal is to utilize the clients’ strengths, build or rebuild their self-esteem and self-worth, and help them cope and function in society.
